About:

In society today people love to ask the question "What do you do?" If you're looking at my website chances are you're here to find out a little bit more about me.

I'll take this opportunity to try and put answer to the ever elusive and often perplexing question that attempts to define me.

Some days I'm a general contractor, others a woodworker, finish carpenter, fabricator or designer. You might also catch me penning music for a new song or writing copy for a website or blog.

In the past I've been known as a merchandiser and manager at a large natural food chain, a gardener on an organic farm, a singer songwriter, a web developer, a ceramist, a photographer, a student. The list goes on.

Some of my friends and long time clients have called me a renaissance man, but personally I like to think of myself as an artist and creative expressionist. With this I’ve spent much of my adult life trying to merge the need to exercise this creativity with the cold hard reality of making a dollar.

For me it's the ebb and flow of the tidal forces that exist in the world we live. There is give and take in everything. So I bend and do my best to stay versatile and relevant to my surroundings.

By nature, I’m a perfectionist. I strive to achieve this in everything I do. However I realize that time is a factor in this fast paced society we live so I attempt to balance my inherent pursuit of perfection with the importance of being efficient.

I have spent the last thirteen years working towards the independence I have now achieved. More specifically over the last six years I have focused my work towards fine craftsmanship and design with wood, metal, and stone. I have been able to use these skills in a variety of settings both artistically and as a contractor for homeowners and small businesses.

I have also spent a good deal of time fine tuning my abilities in landscape and hardscape design, electrical systems, plumbing, painting, building, finish carpentry, cement work, framing, drywall, and the many different aspects involved in building. I am licensed and insured as dwelling contractor in the state of Wisconsin.

I am almost always available to discuss a project no matter the scope or type. I’ve been hired for things that take 15 minutes and jobs that have lasted 6 months or more. Please feel free to contact me and let’s see what beautiful things we can dream up together. I’m here to help.

So how can I help you?

Ciao,

Joe
